The second among the standing, one-legged concentration series is the Standing Bow Pose or Dandayamana-Dhanurasana. Like the Standing Head to Knee pose, it also improves balance and flexibility. In this posture, the blood from one side of the body rushes to the other side, then back again. You can achieve this pose by standing on your left leg. Don’t forget to always lock your knee. Bend the right knee and use your right hand to reach for your right ankle while your left arm raised, straight out in front you. Lean your upper body forward until it becomes parallel to the floor. Check in the mirror and make sure that your right foot is not sticking out to the side. Stay poised for 60 seconds then do the whole pose in reverse.
